Risk Assessment As a nursery we have put together a robust risk assessment which is updated and reviewed regularly, in line with the current guidelines. Social Distancing Social distancing is strongly encouraged between bubbles, and in the outside areas when children are being dropped off or collected. There are markers within the setting to highlight the 2 metre point. Masks We encourage the wearing of masks in all communal areas in the setting and ask that parents continue to wear masks when dropping off and collecting their children. Staff will also wear masks when engaging with parents. Staff do not wear masks within the rooms, as they are within their bubble, and interaction is an important part of the children’s learning and development. This would be affected by the wearing of masks.

Group bubbles Bubbles have been created within the setting to minimise the risk of transmission within the setting, and minimise the number of staff and children who may need to isolate in the event of a positive case. Cleaning Whilst cleaning has always been an important part of our routine, we have increased our cleaning in all areas of the setting. Rooms and toys are cleaned at the end of the morning session, and again at the end of the afternoon session. Our housekeeping team cleans touchpoints within the setting at regular intervals throughout the day. Staff and children are encouraged to regularly wash their hands throughout the course of the day and staff must wash and sanitise their hands when coming into the setting, or moving between areas in the setting.

Drop off and collection As per the current guidelines, parents are asked to drop off and collect their children from the outside car park area. Parents are asked to social distance when in the car park, and practitioners from each bubble will collect the children from outside. This is the same at the end of each session when children are being collected. Tour of the Nursery We are able to arrange visits for new or prospective parents who would like to view the nursery.

We ask that you contact the nursery to book this with us, and that this is kept to 1 parent per child. Before the visit we will inform you of the current system of controls, and confirm with you that you have not been in contact with a positive case. During the visit we will ask you to sanitise your hands upon entry, wear a face covering, and keep a distance of two metres from others. PPE PPE is available within the setting. PPE will be used in the event of a suspected case of Covid-19.
