At Pier Lodge Day Nursery we are proud of the fantastic purpose built facilities that we have. However we believe that without the world class team that we have in place, the nursery would be just a shell. Our wonderful team make every child's experience the best it can be and infuse a wonderful personality and life in to the nursery, which we know makes it the fantastic nursery it is today.

Nursery Manager & Safeguarding Lead
Annalisa has worked at Pier Lodge Day Nursery since October 2009. She holds a level 5 in childcare and has gained a wealth of experience over the last 16 years, including a nursery setting in Holland. Annalisa is the nursery’s Safeguarding lead and regularly attends an array of meetings to ensure the correct support is in place for each child. She leads on the nursery’s EYPP scheme and completes the two-year old adult led planning.
Deputy Manager & Language Lead
Sarah has worked at Pier Lodge Day Nursery since July 2011 and holds a Level 3 qualification. After a short period of time gaining further experience at another Early Years setting, Sarah then re-joined the team in March 2017. Sarah leads the nursery’s Language programme, monitoring the impact of teaching on the children’s communication skills and producing data for us to monitor progress. She will soon be working towards a level 4 qualification.
Senior Practitioner & SENCo
Alex joined Pier Lodge Day Nursery in May 2010. She currently holds a level 3 qualification in childcare and is soon to embark on her level 4. Alex oversees the monitoring and support for children with additional needs and English as an additional language. She has the relevant SEND qualifications which has enhanced her knowledge and has recently completed Thurrock Early Signs at foundation level. Alex currently leads the baby room and is responsible for the adult led planning for the under twos.
Senior Practitioner & Maths Co-ordinator
Khariss joined the nursery in December 2009. She currently holds a level 3 qualification in childcare and leads a three-year old room. Khariss is responsible for the adult led planning for the three-year olds. She has completed training in ‘Achieving Mathematics’ and leads the setting’s Maths activities.
Senior Practitioner & Display Coordinator
Amy joined the team in 1999 and is the nursery’s longest serving member of staff. Amy holds a level 3 in childcare and works in a two-year old room. She is responsible for ensuring that the British Values are promoted across the nursery and that displays remain relevant to the nursery’s theme and planning.
